A shopkeeper cannot charge GST over and above the maximum retail price (MRP) of a product. The GST amount must be included in the MRP. If any shopkeeper is caught charging GST over MRP, the penalty can range from Rs. 2,000 to 25,000.

Online Complaint Mechanism
Online complaints about income tax filing in India can be easily registered by visiting the tax portal at www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. Look for the ‘e-Nivaran’ option in the top meAnu and click on it. It will redirect you to a new page with two options- Submit Grievance and View Grievance Status. Select ‘Submit Grievance’ and enter your PAN or TAN number. You will now have a grievance form that you can fill to file your complaint.
Income-tax Informants Reward Scheme 2018 – For reporting Benami property, undisclosed foreign income/ assets and Tax evasion
With the objective of obtaining people’s participation in the Income Tax Department’s efforts to unearth black money and reduce tax evasion, a new reward scheme titled “Income Tax Informants Reward Scheme, 2018” has been issued by the Income Tax Department, superseding the earlier reward scheme issued in 2007. Under the revised scheme, a person can get reward for giving specific information in prescribed manner to the designated officers of Investigation Directorates in Income Tax Department about substantial evasion of tax on income or assets in India which are actionable under the Income-tax Act, 1961.
